After owning more than three different Keurig machines, I’ve solved many common problems with Keurig coffee machines. Here are some issues I’ve faced and how I fixed them.
Coffee grinds coming out with coffee
This happens when there are coffee grinds stuck in the piercing needle. Usually, running an empty cycle with water only fixes the problem. If not, use a sewing needle or a paper clip to unclog the needle.
Half-full, AKA short brew
When your Keurig machine decides to brew only a sip of coffee, again, check the piercing needle (puncture the K-Cup pod). The needle is likely clogged up. Try running a water-only cycle. If it doesn’t unclog the needle, use a sewing needle or a paper clip.
Broken and damaged piercing needle
I had to replace the needle for one of my older models once. I purchased a used one from eBay. If you need a replacement piercing needle for your Keurig, eBay is the best place to find one. Here are some listings: Update: You can now purchase the needle assembly from Amazon. Brand-new ones are not that expensive.)
